You've Passed
The earth breathes. I keep saying this in my head like I want to believe that the very ground is alive. What is there apart from us? And what is there when we are gone?
Something is watching us from the ground and from the trees and from the air.
Something is watching us from the ground and from the trees and from the air.

This is not my beautiful house
There are no second acts in American lives. But I am not American. Where was I born? I don't know the place or time exactly, I wasn't my full self, but I've long felt that it was intentional.
We each live this mistake: that we were destined. It's childish and solipsistic. And sometimes it keeps us going, keeps us striving, to fulfil ourselves, in some place and time. I don't know where exactly.

Management Speak
Things that managers say that I hate:
"Going forward." As opposed to say, traveling back in time?
"Action" used as a verb. Just say "do" you git.
There are plenty, but I could live with the extermination of these alone.

Feist - 1234
For a moment, my cold ironic exterior is set aside by this infectious, joyous song. In a reversal of the standard indie career appraisal, I've started to enjoy Feist more as she gains fame.

Monday and My Inbox
Don't worry too much about the details at first. Think about the big picture.
Yesterday I was talking about how in 1999 I went away on holiday for a week and came back to 1800 emails. I went away over the weekend (3 days total) and came back to an email. Which I deleted. Because it was an automatic notification about something I wasn't going to act on.
It's not that I spend less time on the internet. Quite the opposite. I guess I just do it more efficiently now. You can reach crisis point easily and get overwhelmed, but it pays to always be aware of when you are taking on another "thing", another responsibility. And it pays to be rigorous with those attention seeking, time-sapping nothings of the web.
