Monday and My Inbox

Don't worry too much about the details at first. Think about the big picture.

Yesterday I was talking about how in 1999 I went away on holiday for a week and came back to 1800 emails. I went away over the weekend (3 days total) and came back to an email. Which I deleted. Because it was an automatic notification about something I wasn't going to act on.

It's not that I spend less time on the internet. Quite the opposite. I guess I just do it more efficiently now. You can reach crisis point easily and get overwhelmed, but it pays to always be aware of when you are taking on another "thing", another responsibility. And it pays to be rigorous with those attention seeking, time-sapping nothings of the web.
